Biking to work after the season's 2nd snowstorm.

I crossed the road to get this shot. No shoulders on this road, so going downhill (until I know vehicles going my direction would have enough time to see me) I go against traffic. ONLY on hilly roads with NO shoulders. When I'm on Rte 3, my blood pressure drops and I go (as law states) with the flow of traffic. I've been routinely biking this road for over 4 years and I have little doubt that if I always went with the flow of traffic I would not be typing this. I get local bikers asking me why when they pass me in cars I am not always on the right side of the road. One was very insistent. I told him to bike to my house and back (be 6.5 miles for him) and if he survived, he be scared out of his wits. He has never done it, but dropped the topic.

In all honesty, 2 early snowstorms almost brings me to tears. In 2010 I plan on biking 10,000 miles as a fundraiser for the local library. Lots of daytime snowstorms will add to the challenge.
