Pacifica Fire

Williams, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Fire started about 2PM at the Pacifica Botanical Gardens. Yes, my favorite photo shooting place. You've seen it many times. We lost our internet connection about 3PM and our power about 3:30PM. Power came back on about 1:00 on the morning of the 20th. Internet just came back this afternoon (21 July). We are safe and sound. The fire never got any closer than a quarter mile. It consumed about 500 acres. More shots to follow.

Thank you Eileen, Kathy, Gil, Elaine and Wilma.

We had planned to go to the Jackson County Fair
just about the time the fire started. Decided
right then and there....nope! We're staying here.
The prevailing winds were from the West (usual)
and kept the fire from coming any closer than the
quarter mile.

Thank you very much, WU staff, for the AC & VIP recognition.

Whoa! Sad news!
A quarter mile is too close in my opinion.
Glad you're safe, but so sorry about all the damage.
