Hotchkiss, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This is what the sheepherder calls home when they're out wit their flocks. It has a place to sleep, a stove for heating and cooking and a table for eating. Not much else but a little room for some of his clothes and stuff. I think they are cute, but I don't think I'd want to live in one...maybe camping, though. They pull this behind a pick-up truck.

Interesting photo, they had similar ones in the UK too, probably up to the 1930s. But Gypsies lived and raised some sizable families in that kind of space, everything had a place and a job, the valuables box was in the floor. If the van caught fire it would drop to the ground underneath and escape the inferno...hopefully.
