Oh yes...I hung my rolled wire out last night and was sure hoping that it would snow on it...I have lots of other props too such as freshly cut fields, cow pies & teton sunsets, but I loaned them to Funhawg and he's hoarding them. ;)
I think this is your best wire shot yet! I love the weak lighting and the clouds lingering over the mountains! Yes, I agree, Kansas and Louisiana don't come close to scenery like this! We need some of those props Funhawg's hoarding!!!
Another amazingly beautiful scene. You are so lucky to live there. This also is a perfect composition with beautiful colors. I love the clouds passing over the mountains. They are probably depositing more snow on them. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous photos with all of us.
Thanks so much everyone for your greatly appreciated comments! It was a beautiful morning! Luckily for me, the rancher who's been storing these spools of wire hasn't found a use for them yet! The one on the far right post has uncoiled..maybe I should put it back together for him! I'm just worried about funhawg...he seems really fond of them....someday they might turn up missing ;)
beautiful..just beautiful! glad all that white stuff hasn't found its way out here yet..60 degrees up here in the mountains today..but we are putting snow fencing around all the shrubs :) :( lol..suzi
You won't believe this but when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was Carl's photo! Nice series of snowy pictures! I'm jealous of you people who live in this beautiful area!!!
Summer, this is a great shot. Your composition on this one is outstanding. A very nice architectural shot with the rolls of wire. The snow is just a bonus. This shot would be cool even without all that white stuff! Congrats on your AC. Nice work, Trigirl Debra
Beautiful depth of field on this. The clouds rolling over the mountains is what impresses me the most. I also love the many polar contrasts such as the clouds versus barbwire and the snow versus scrub brush as well as the orange versus the blue (opposites on the color wheel). 10!
I've considered whether to die here. I LOVE Nevada and have lived at least ten years in the Ely/McGill area with scenery just like this one. Scenes like this one.....is burned into my memories. This is a GREAT pic. Thanks. :o)

What a wonderful website to blend the science of meteorology with displays of organic self-expression, creating a bond for many everlasting friendships. As energy is aligned within the frame, an image is produced from our hearts. I find joy in the natural elements that only the living earth can so effortlessly display. ….contrasting shades of earthtones, an unexpected glow or unusual plays on color and texture, capturing the continuous energy flow. Thank you for sharing such beautiful reflections of your life.
