What a fantastic and serendipitous photo! I have never seen a photo of an armadillo with such details and variety of colorings. Nice shot!

This is SO cute, Delana!! I've seen photos in National Geographic where if they get scared they go straight up in the air a couple feet--have you ever seen that??

I didn't think of that about them running out of garbage and dead carcases, I think that is more of the possum's diet though, lol. I think over the years, they have just adapted to moving north. They're not real fast, but can run pretty good when spooked, faster than a possum :)

Got the hubby carrying a camera too :) Cute capture! Wonder why they are so abundant there now? Did southern Arkansas run out of garbage and dead carcases!

Thanks Bernard for the comment! I'm sure you'd see them there now. I remember years ago, only seeing them in southern Arkansas, now are plenty here.

Ugly creatures. I never saw one when I was running about in the foothills of the Ozarks.

Fun shot Delana, these guys are easy to find around here, we just follow their scavenging sounds.
