Such an air of mystery, and this does remind me of more Southern climes. Wow!

Thank your for your comment, Patty !
The dust came from North Africa and covered a large part of Europe. It was especially bad in the UK, but it hung over parts of Austria, too for about one week !

Interesting, what nature can do, Heidrun! We heard about it in the UK here; but they hadn't mentioned that the dust had spread so widely!

The dust gives the sky and the lighting sort of
an eerie quality. It is amazing to me how many
hundreds of miles dust can travel. We get dust
from Arizona sometimes. I love the row of bicycles
and the vertical lines of the fence and the
buildings. Beautiful shot, Heidrun, in spite of
the dust...or maybe, in part, because of the dust.

Thanks for commenting, Shirley !
We were in Innsbruck to enjoy a couple of days of hiking in the Tyrolian mountains. And we did - went to the Stubai valley and were plodding through deep snow - but noticed that the sky there got increasingly hazy - the dust had reached that valley, too !

Thank you for your comments and your interest Wilma, Eileen,Charlotte, Kathy and Katy !
This has happened before , but the duration ( 6 days) was new and irritating. Relief only came ,when finally a rain front moved in and literally washed down the dirt.
