Caption: Sudden gusts of wind caused tall trees to topple. This one fell right onto our river hiking trail and we tried to find a way through the tangle.

No fun when your regular trek is blocked.
Often, they don't clear them when not on a
major street or road. Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Actually we were on the trail and tried to get through - needed to do some ducking and climbing over the fallen limbs to get to the part that was not affected.

Looks like a machete might have helped you get
through, but you would be a scary hiker, indeed,
if you carried a machete on you!:-) There is a big
old barn in hotchkiss with a big chunk out of it
that was caused by one of those miscrobursts. They
are destructive and come on so quickly and leave
just as quickly...an unpleasant weather event, for
sure! Congratulations on the VIP!

Thank you Gil, Julia and Charlotte for commenting on this shot.
We actually expected a good rain once the quite violent gusts started, but we only got a slight sprinkle for a few minutes. And once the wind settled down, it got calm and clear, again. Was quite a strange happening for us.

Wow! Some wind you had here. Looks like what Albuquerque has had twice recently. (Microbursts both times). Stay safe
