It was a sad thing, but I believe the people were a bit ill advised in building so close to the water. Nature takes revenge from time to time when we do not learn.

Ahhhhh. For the disgruntled and unhappy people, an area was destroyed that affected tons of people who are now without homes for months. This boardwalk is where everyone goes to enjoy the wonderful beach all year long. They go there to walk their babies, exercise on bikes, roller blade or just walk. If you look at the first photo in the series that is what we need, everyone standing together with no negativity but working together to rebuild an area that is totally decimated. Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments. I will continue to go down to Long Beach, Jones Beach and keep everyone updated on the progress to get back to some normalcy after so much ab-normalcy.

It looks like an overcrowded place to live, boardwalk or not. As though it's the projects, build right up to the water.

Linda,

What are you waiting for? Get out your magic wand and give it a few shakes and PRESTO!

Interesting photograph.

Looks better than it did not so long ago (considering), hope things are are getting easier for those affected. I can't help but wonder if anything washed out to sea during Sandy will somehow make it to UK shores.
