Brownfield, ME (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: the herds of deer are coming in close to the house to look for anything they can eat..they've eaten all the Cedars and evergreens as well as all the flowering bushes they could find above the snow..even though there have been 'feeding stations' set in the forests, it's been a hard Winter on both Man and Beast!

yes John..I know corn is not their diet..nor is it good to feed them that so our neighbor, who has a couple of thousand acres of forest, has a crew of men who keep barrels of apples..piles of evergreen boughs..salt licks..etc out all Winter for the animals..this Winter has been so harsh that even that hasn't kept them adequately fed..and with the really deep snow it's been hard for the animals to get around..thanks for your comment..

About suzi46

Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. But it was time to downsize and make a major lifestyle that's what we did!! Going from the Mt Washington Valley region of Maine/NH all the way down to the "Horse Capital of the World"..Marion County in Central Florida! New photo ops in a totally new and intriguing area of this very large and varied state..let the fun begin!
