The name of these bright and cheerful looking plants ARE CALLED SAND BURRS.  When the flower falls, the burr appears with seed inside. The seed is encased in hard shell of the burr, as it dries out it gets hard.  step on it either when the burr starts to form, better yet when it gets hard and your feet will not like it.   Best bet pull 'em out!

this is GORGEOUS! I love yellow wildflowers... especially when they are growing on a beach! :) The leaves look like peas or vetch and the flowers themselves resemble hibiscus or moon-flowers, or something related to morning glories ....or primrose... but the leaves have me confused.... I wonder if ChrisAnthemum or Mara would know? :)

About suzi46

suzi46

Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. But it was time to downsize and make a major lifestyle change..so that's what we did!! Going from the Mt Washington Valley region of Maine/NH all the way down to the "Horse Capital of the World"..Marion County in Central Florida! New photo ops in a totally new and intriguing area of this very large and varied state..let the fun begin!
