hmmm?? really don't know..the farmer wasn't around to ask..but he DOES breed these very expensive prime beef cattle for show as well as for beef..but this breed tends to be quite rotund anyhow..especially with their very heavy, fluffy, wooly Winter coats on..thanks for your comment! :)

The black and white Belted Galloway cows we call Oreo cows. Not sure what "cookie" the red and white cows are called.

About suzi46
suzi46 Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. The photo ops are virtually unlimited what with the surrounding working farms, dozens of lakes, ponds, and brooks, and thousands of acres of forest. Not to mention our own pond and brooks as well as extensive flower gardens, fruit bushes, vines, and trees. The views of Mt Washington and the Presidentials of NH only add to the drama! Not a bad place to be retired..and I am so glad I can share all of this with the wonderful folks on this great site..it has been a wonderful journey and learning experience thus far..and it's only getting better!
