Thank you, all,

Suzi - the trees are minarette trees, never get taller than 6 foot. The apples are Lord Derby, a dual eating and cooking apple. The pears are Concorde.

Cowgazer. - the pears were not as prolific as the apples....and I picked two bags full a week or so ago.

Lovely clean crop, bumper crop in Wales too but only from certain trees, some flowered just as the frost returned and only had a very sparse crop if any, pears also hit this problem.

Granny Smith's perhaps?? and Bosc for the pears? we've had huge apple harvests here as well..it was a very good year for all types of fruits and berries.. :)
