You're right it is "quirky" and that is a good thing in photography. I take back my comment. I actually didn't see that until I read the other comments. I get it now.

Yes I agree with Patty, although I also get where Larry is coming from,,but sometimes,,it all depends on what actually 'works'..and this works for me! I love hay bales out in the fields,,too bad whenever I see them,,the driver is usually going to fast for me to get a good snap..lol! I would love to use them like 'Legos' to create something fun!..Awesome country capture,Kim!! Now Larry,,go out and get some shots Your Way..I would love to see his version as well! Happy Autumn Kim! :)))-Mindi

I love fog, hay bales, and this beautiful photograph. I wouldn't change a thing. Art is in the eye of the beholder, and personally I feel the offset bale makes this photo. Bravo!!

Quoting LarryD:
I love the fog, I love the hay bales, I love the color treatment, but there is something about the composition that I feel could be improved on. I think I would have tried to put the line of bales on a diagonal. Even so, I do like this photo.

:) I took several of this field, this was the only shot I took like this for that same reason Larry. But when I edited my photos from the raw stage it seemed a little unexpected and i thought it was kind of quirky with the one bale out of alignement on the upper terrace so I decided to post it.

Nice foggy shot. We are getting a little needed rain also, I guess. I slept through it. 10 from your friend in SW Iowa.

About ruralartist

ruralartist

There's just something about the weather that fascinates me, perhaps its living on the great plains. Our daily lives are influenced by it and living on a land with no mountains, big ravines, waterfalls, trees and such tends to make the sky the star of the show here. Hope you enjoy perusing my images. -Kim
