Thanks, everyone, for the great comments. My favorite place to see the Northern Lights is Chena Hot Springs in Chena, AK. Its NE of Fairbanks by about 75 minutes. They offer a snow cat ride to the top of Charlie Dome where you can be one with the stars. There is a yurt for warming up on the very cold evenings. No light pollution to compromise your shots and everyone is so kind and friendly. Plenty of space to spread out and get the shots you want.

About robb04047

robb04047

I have a full time job during the day which deals with workforce optimization. I have been fortunate to travel the country as well as Europe and Asia. My Frequent Flyer Miles replaced an old Minolta SLR that was stolen 20 years ago. I used my miles and purchased the Canon T1i. It was love at first click. Taking pictures helps me forget about all the bad things in the world. Photography forces you to focus solely on the intimate beauty of nature.
