Already there is open water out in the reservoir. The snow line is moving higher up on the hills on the other side of the valley. Spring is just around the corner...

Thank you for the "shack" info. In the South we don't ever see this king of activity so it is very interesting to me. BTW, great shot and story telling!

Wonderful shot, Julia! I like the way you can see
each elevation change. I can see the water, so
if I were that fisherman, I'd be packing up soon.
I do tend to err on the side of caution, so I
might miss some ice fishing, but I wouldn't be
trying any ice swimming!
