What an unusual flower. I've never seen one like it before. Great photo by you and great detective work by Ann! I did more searching and found that it's scientific name is Calochortus tolmiei. I always love to learn new stuff and this is a great place to do that.

Okay… I found out it is called a "Cat's Ear" ~ but that the official name of it is Mariposa Lily. Isn't it beautiful though!! I just love it. Some are white in color.
