I hope you are correct, regarding it being able to be saved. I know you are correct about the congregation being able to carry on.
I didn't there, going to Otterbein United Methodist across town. Our church was built in 1924, and is a beautiful building in its own right, with wonderful windows, but not on par with "The big Methodist Church" as we call it.
On a personal level, there is something about an old church, that I find very soothing, and aids in my connection to God.

Agreed, it looks salvageable, and the important part is the congregation itself.

To paraphrase from the brazillion translations of the Gospel of St Thomas:

The Kingdom of God is in you, and around you, not in buildings made of wood and stone.

Split a piece of wood and you will find Me. Lift up a stone and I am there.

Looks intact enough to save. The important part, is that the heart of any church exists within the hearts of its congregation-and is thus indestructible. A building is in the end, mere nostalgia.

I don't believe they will be able to save it, but it is probably to soon to say. Robinson is a rural community of around 7,000. The church is 112 years old, and it was just beautiful, with amazing windows. It is being investigated as possible arson.

What a beautiful old church and I am so sorry to see it in this shape. Can it be saved? I hope no one was injured or hurt in any way but this is so sad to see.
