Caption: I don't know what kind of bug this is but it scared the crap out of me when I saw it. Now I know we've been transformed into a rain forest because this is the biggest bug I've ever seen!

Actually it's not a praying mantis but a walking stick, a close relative. Harmless, though a bit scary looking.

It doesn't really look like a praying mantis and it's a lot bigger than any I've ever seen. Based on the pictures I've been able to find on the internet and the fact that it doesn't have the buggy eyes or wings, I think it is another kind of stick bug.
