My Cheaper Guide to Astrophotography for Beginners guide is finished and broken into two parts on my Wunderblog.

Part 1 is about the equipment you need to get started in wide-field astrophotography. If you already own a dSLR you can skip to part 2, though I give a few tips in Part 1 that might be worth considering in your compositions.

Part 2 is about the basic technique and advice on your first night shoot.
