Thank you all!  I hadn't seen the Mourning Doves in a few weeks and I wondered out loud where they all were. A short time later I looked out the window and saw three roosting in the pine trees.

Her cousin has been feeding with my resident junkos, house sparrows, white-crowned sparrows, gold-crowned sparrows, song sparrows, towhees and even a lone, grey squirrel (Freddie the Freeloader.) I'm on my second 40# bag of bird seed this month! And we have yet to get snow! Hmmm, maybe that's why the house sparrow population doubled here last spring? :) I've seen the dove on the power lines, now she's found the free lunch. As for the squirrel, an oddity around here, due to all the coyotes, eagles, hawks, etc. Ah, life in Paradise! Merry Christmas!
