Sharon, I have had those black wires spoil some of my better shots. This is still a great shot of a beautiful red barn.

Pardon the soap box.

What a great looking barn!! I know what you mean, I have missed some good shots due to wire boycotts. Sometimes the subject overpowers it, though...

Before getting excited about putting all power connections underground, remember that Hurricane Sandy flooded the underground conduits in Manhattan (a borough of New York City). If the local power company (Consolitated Edison) and our mayor had not been alert and cut all power prior to the arrival of the storm, the equipment could have been severely damaged by exposure to sea water taking months to replace and costing an enormous amount of money! As it was, the bulk of the borough was only without power for four days, unpleasant but bearable!

Sharon, thank you all your wonderful photographs.

Robert

Great shot Nanapoo ! The lines do not bother me at all. I am curious however about the black nose on the white door toward the right in the photo...:-D

Nothing can detract from that magnificent tree, it seems to be embracing the old barn and protecting the silo's precious store. Back in my childhood days, the wires were welcome signs of warmth, light, and communitcations with the world outside. We didn't get electricity until I was about 6 years old!

Thanks for the comments! The "black nose" is the collar for the harness for work horses or mules!
