Thanks so much everyone! Peter, I'm not sure why they split the crops in such a way. Alfalfa is good for about 6-8 yrs, so I know they aren't rotating crops that often. This is dairy country too. But, many of the family farms split the two. Say, dad has the livestock and jr has the crops. There will be miles of dairy farms and then miles of cropland.
