Caption: Building began in 1806 with pledges of 50c to $10, total of $197. Two stories high, 25x30ft, galleries on 3 sides with a wine glass pulpit. Built of logs furnished by John Schell, John Mowry, Jacob Hillegass, and George Rock, each furnishing 1 side. For 6 yrs the people worshipped by sitting on logs. It is said that prior to the stove purchase in 1809, members brought their dogs to church to keep their feet warm! Pulpit, stairs, and pews added in 1812.

Sharon..I can't explain the remarks made by that individual..all I can say is that this is a terrific, natural capture of a wonderful old church and graveyard..our skies here, especially at this time of the year, look EXACTLY like this..layers of purple and pink..STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA..no enhancements by us needed..Nature does a good enough job all by itself..AC congrats!! :)

Yes, I can elaborate; Those digital enhancements (HDR) in no way represent camera skills.
The colors and contrasts of the above picture are not what the unaided eye sees when viewing that church. While those distortions may gain awards. They just make me dizzy.

Stunning image, Sharon! Love the history, and all the lines in front of, and behind the church in the trees and clouds, create a most unusual geometric mix! 10 from me!
