Canyon, MN (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This was so striking I stopped a couple different times to take photos to stitch together. They each had a different look to them, almost other-worldly. The only time we get these brilliant halos is when there are tons of ice in the frigid air. It was about 5 degrees above zero F. (-25 C.)

Thanks, Denalidaze! I actually played around with this photo in my computer and made the trees look like an alien landscape instead, cuz it has such an unearthly look to the sky, but couldn't find a spacecraft to paste on as a silhouette! lol! :D

Super find, Kathy! It is indeed an other worldly kind of phenomenon to experience! Beautiful color in your shots, too.

About minnesotamom

minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)/>free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
