You're one up on me, Dave---for as many years as I've lived in this climate I've never driven a snowmobile. Just never had any desire to. :-)

Dave, my apologies--I guess because you've gone to Lapland I just assumed you'd driven on it there, as well as when it's snowed in the southern UK. :-)

Dave~~you get used to handling a car on slippery roads. Like learning to skate with a car. :-)

Mindi~~Not brave, just need to get out and do what needs to be done! Walking nearly 40 miles one way to get gas and groceries and necessities isn't really an option, especially in below zero weather! :D

Great shot - great title !
Know what you mean- you simply have to be an excellent and VERY alert driver during such conditions in Minnesota !
Still have zero snow in my neck of the woods !

Hmmm, I wrote a note on here yesterday but it never posted...So I'll say it again: Thanks so much for your notes, Kat, Eileen, and Susan!
And now I'll add Gene and Peter to my thanks list!
Gene--it sure is great to have a job close to home isn't it? Mine is now only about a mile away with maybe one car in several days!
Peter--I busted out laughing at your description!!! Having worked in an auto body shop for over 10 years I loved your choice of words for an accident!! :D

Yeah, that's the kind of "rush" I could do without...

I don't miss those days where I had a fairly long-distance commute in allllllll weather conditions, including snow and ice.

Oh, I know what you mean, Kathy! Definitely not
my favorite road consitions. The driving isn't
too bad...if you are the only car on the road,
right?:-)

About minnesotamom

minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs---too hot for me. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
