Caption: We got over a foot of new snow last night. When I let her out she made it about 10 feet from the porch, pushing snow the whole way with her chest, then gave up and turned around.

Me either! It was pretty hard pushing her way even as far as she did get, Dave! Thanks for taking time to write. :-)

Thanks, Belle--she's starting to blow out her coat around her back hips though so her legs aren't as well insulated. We hadn't been out yet that morning but later my son shoveled so she had cleared ground to get around on. :-)

My dog won't even go for 10 feet, Kathy, she behaves more like your cats! Penny looks adorable, though, with her thick winter coat still on in this long winter! A Favorite!

Delana~~she kept turning around and going back to the porch then back out there, so yes, by the time she finally went and pushed her way back up the steps she was only too ready to lay down again for a while. But later she spent the whole afternoon outside sleeping in the sun on the porch.

trekincat~~thanks for the chuckle!! :D I laughed out loud as I was reading it!

Doug & Donna~~Yes, in some ways I wish I were there too, but I do enjoy this kind of snow when it's not freezing cold. It's melting fast, too, as it was in the low 40's today. I know that sounds ferociously cold to you but we had a couple guys out surfing on Lake Superior a few days ago, wearing wet suits!!

So cute! Wow, makes me appreciate Tucson all the more right now. Our high on April 19th was 76 degrees F. Great hiking weather. As the old saying goes Kathy... wish you were here.

Sheesh what kinda dog mom are you??? Why aren't you out there at the break of dawn shoveling a nice wide clear path for your sweet little girl. Where are her fuzzy shoes? he wool jacket and matching scarf?? And a nice BIG steaming pot of hot mush for he to eat when she comes back in??

( I really hope you know I'm trying to be funny )

I LOVE Penny and her valiant efforts.

Thanks so much for your notes, Skycat, Ann, Ingrid and Kathy! :-) She wasn't happy at all about how deep the snow was, but after the porch was shoveled she laid out in the sun all day, refusing to come back in till evening. :-)

When we lived in MN, we used to have to shovel out a path and place at the end of it for our little dogs to go pee and poop.

Penny sure is cute! That must have been exhausting. Did she get to go to the bathroom or tell you she would wait?!!

About minnesotamom

minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs---too hot for me. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
