Caption: This is a shot of Venus crossing in front of the sun this afternoon, taken with an iPhone camera through my 8-inch Dobsonian reflector telescope. Venus is the black dot on the lower left. THere are a few sunspots visible as well.

Thanks for all the nice comments! Glad to have my first AC.
Biff4ugo, the image is upside down because it was taken through a reflector telescope, which turns images upside down and backward. Takes some getting used to when moving the scope to track objects!

I'm puzzled, I thought the 2012 passage was on the top of the Sun, and the 2004 was on the bottom, where yours is.
Are your Photos upside down or do I just have it confused. I'm sure the sunspots show you have it right.
