Taken @ 5:42 AM, Sept. 19, 2012 This is the spectrum of Venus, taken with the Shelyak Star Analyzer 100 diffraction grating on a 200mm lens with the Nikon D300s. This is my first experiment with this filter; it's a pain getting it aligned and I still don't have it quite right, but this is a good start.

As a former astronomer I am an avid sky watcher. I have lived in New Mexico for about 10 years and am constantly amazed by the beautiful skies. My favorite subjects to photograph are the skies of course, cats (I rescue strays), and robots (I have a HUGE collection).
