Caption: The ripple clouds were just amazing tonight! Doesn't this kind of cloud have a name? I can't think of it...if anyone can educate me I'd appreciate it!

what is wrong with most, there is nothing natural about these, the ripples are haarped, pulsed with high energy,
read/open your eyes and minds, our skies were never like this before. this is damaging the natural world including us. thousands of site exist on this, as well as books. you are allowing yourselves to be duped.
all these colors are due to pollution, that was always a well-documented fact. since these clouds are man-made and/or embedded with these sprayed metallic ions, they are lighting up at sunset into pinks/reds and orange colors.

Thrive puts the pieces together, which was difficult to do in just 2 hours. They have also designed a great interactive website for more in depth information on each issue: go to www.thrivemovement.com One can purchase the DVD here, stream it or amazon has it. I think you have some mammatus clouds in there, but I'm not sure..all I know I've learned from Heidrun (Trailhiker44). They are gorgeous, though!

If I remember rightly, the ripples are caused by undulations off the mountain top. It sets up a wave.

Yes, the name of that cloud is called beautiful! :) I'm not a cloud expert but I'd guess there are probably several different types of clouds in this sky. I did a short search and found some called altocumulus undulatus that look similar to part of this sky. I do love clouds and watching them dance across the sky. Gorgeous photo and series, Colleen.
