Thanks for the favorable reception to "Red, White & Blue" - and especially for the comments. The answers to the questions are that it is an ALCO M-420, according to a source who knows lots more about diesels than I do. MHWA on the side of the cab identifies the railroad to which this unit belongs. Although this unit was in service on Delaware-Lackawanna rails, the MHWA is among the short-line railroads owned by Genesee Valley Transportation. The diesel had been sent to Scranton, PA, for repairs and is probably being used for awhile on a GVT line close to the shop, to "test" those repairs before being sent back to NY-state. More info about ALCOs and MHWA are at the following addresses----->

About lousyfocus

SWDM; 60+; 2 grown daughters; 4 indoor cats. Have had only 4 addresses ever - all of which have been within 25 mi. of each other in NE PA, where civilization has become too noticeable. Productivity at this end suffered a setback quite awhile ago, but picture-taking is an attempt to hopefully show that it has at least partially been restored - with some titles and/or captions intending to increase the "fun" of the process. Comments of support have made life immeasurably better. It is hugely attractive that this site provides so many well-done glimpses of the world. My oldest WunderPhotos which understandably weren't anybody's favorites - and thousands of other pics - can no longer be seen by clicking on "Visit My Website" next to this bio. The site (Webshots) has been restructured, resulting in the undoing of many, many hours of effort. "My WunderBlogs" might have provided pleasing viewing...but photos there, too, have been wiped out by the restructuring; and it's unknown if/when the photos will ever be re-uploaded to the blogs. The WunderBlog space is much appreciated and I wish that I could add to it - and upload to WunderPhotos - more often...but realizing that sites can make any change that pleases them has cooled me to the cyber-world.
