Moscow, PA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: For the third consecutive Saturday, I went to a turn-around point for passengers disembarked from old railroad coaches being pulled by a steam engine. During some logistics, the vital parts of the locomotive were described to onlookers. The majority in this excursion were Mennonite teens. And not surprisingly, the young men were riveted to the conductor's presentation...while the girls were less mesmerized.

WHAT BETTER WAY TO DISPLAY 'YESTERDAY' THAN WITH OLD-FASHIONED VALUES? HOW PERFECTLY THEY
COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER. GOODNESS KIM, U HAVE A REAL TREASURE IN THIS MOMENT. WHAT A MAGNIFICENT MODEL OF GIANT IRONWORKS. THIS IS SO EASILY A '50' & CONGRATS ON YOUR 'AC'. KEEP SENDING..OR WE'LL 'TRACK' U DOWN. LOVE & OLD 'TIES'.

There was a time when the idea of humans in a picture seemed unappealing. Nowadays, however, it's clear that humans are critters, too - capable of assuming some interesting, candid poses, like the segregated Mennonite girls and guys. Thanks for the supportive comments! ...and for spilling this philosophy onto the Approvers' Gallery.

If we were all like those youngsters, perhaps we would be better off these days.

What a fantastic human interest shot, Kim! Even the nostalgia of the steam engine seems to blend with the girls' old traditional dress. I call this a really great photo.

SWDM; 60+; 2 grown daughters; 3 indoor cats. Have had only 4 addresses ever - all of which have been within 25 mi. of each other in NE PA, where civilization has become too noticeable. Productivity at this end suffered a setback quite awhile ago, but picture-taking is an attempt to hopefully show that it has at least partially been restored - with some titles and/or captions intending to increase the "fun" of the process. Comments of support have made life immeasurably better. It is hugely attractive that this site provides so many well-done glimpses of the world. My oldest WunderPhotos which understandably weren't anybody's favorites - and thousands of other pics - can no longer be seen by clicking on "Visit My Website" next to this bio. The site (Webshots) has been restructured, resulting in the undoing of many, many hours of effort. "My WunderBlogs" might have provided pleasing viewing...but photos there, too, have been wiped out by the restructuring; and it's unknown if/when the photos will ever be re-uploaded to the blogs. The WunderBlog space is much appreciated and I wish that I could add to it - and upload to WunderPhotos - more often...but realizing that sites can make any change that pleases them has cooled me to the cyber-world.
