Caption: I was surprised to see this new bird and had time to grab my camera for a first shot of it. I think they are just passing through but I thought that about the Indigo Bunting too and still see them.

Lovely shot! They just showed up here in New York this week. I usually have a breeding pair in my yard every summer. They are stunning birds and you captured him well! Congratulations!

These and the buntings are shy birds that you hear more often than see. Hope they stick around and that you'll be seeing and hearing them again more often! Congrats on the blue, Charlotte!

Thanks Elaine, James & Eileen & APPROVERS & Ingrid (snuck in there)
I didn't think they would stay but when he started picking at the matt in the hanging basket it makes me wonder if they decided to stick around. I wonder if it is because of the late snow?

Great series of these beauties! I love their huge beaks!
Mine should be arriving soon, but they rarely stay long here, as they like to head even farther north.
