The blues are gorgeous... as others mentioned, it speaks cold, but it's so very serene - poetic! Beautiful capture, Katy!

Thanks Gil, Jon and Bill.

Jon that might be a bit of drifting ice fog, either from possibly a patch of open water on the Tanana River, or more likely, ice fog created by wood smoke from a nearby village on the river. There is very often a patch of 'fog' right in that area, much of the winter.

Cold, blue stark and beautiful- great shot. I think I could handle the cold part but the "few hours of twilight" would get to me.
What am I seeing in the center of the photo? ...is that fog or a long cloud?

Wonderful shot Katy. Looks cold, and I feel the shivers just looking at it. Reminds me of some early morning just starting a long day of hunting.

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
