Quoting katy99780:
Thanks Dave, and Barb... I'm not at all sure, but that may be the Little Dipper, Ursa Minor...

? :)
and now I'm thinking it is Cassiopeia.

Thank you Peg, Betsy and Michal!

Michal I was so happy to be able to make a gif, so I could show how they move!

(and these were not really impressive aurora. good ones dance and whirl across the entire sky, with more colors and better definition.)

Thank you Wilma and Barb!

Sorry to disappoint you cr8zy4AK and Barb, but that's not the Big Dipper. For me, the Big Dipper is directly overhead, circling endlessly, day and night, around the always present North Star (Polaris)

I'll try to figure out what constellation or stars those are... and get back to you.

What an incredible treat & gift for a kid who grew up along the Yukon. It was delight to share this dance with my Grandson & to see it with the Dipper center front was icing on the cake.

Thank you, Katy; we love looking at & for your images every day!
