Thank you for stopping by Bernard and Hartfordwxman.

Bernard what you say is so true! Just the opposite in summer, when we totally miss out on sunrise/sunsets.

Hartfordwxman, if every WU photographer from the Lower 48 were to visit, it would be nothing but fun! :)

We need some of that cold down here in the lower-48 initiate winter. Some of us down here actually enjoy the season. If we continue to get non-winters down here we're all going to start heading your way and I'm sure you wouldn't want that.

I guess winter in Alaska has one advantage; you do not have to stay up late to photograph a sunset.

katy99780

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
