Thank you for the comments...Very sadly, a 6 year old little girl in Bemidji, Mn somehow was left outside of her apartment building on the coldest morning of this round of polar vortex and froze to death...utterly, devastatingly heartbreaking.

Thank you all for the comments! Yes, Katy,  very hearty people here, as Papajaun shows.
My stepdad lives in International Falls...the coldest place in this state usually and he laughs at me a lot, but I will add that he completely wimped out on our 110 degrees summers in Kansas. ;)

Quoting papajuan:
It might look like a Polar Vortex but it feels like an Arctic BLAST. Almost like a normal winter day in Northern Minnesota.
Teehee John! Love your assessment, so true!

Jen this is totally gorgeous, a powerful weather image! Hang onto your hat, and bundle up! Just like Northern Minnesotans are used to doing, a tough, resilient people.

My name is Jen and I'm a pediatric home health nurse---which is my first passion. I've lived in Northern Minnesota for three years, and have fallen in love with this beautiful place! My kids are entering adulthood and for the first time in years, I have some time for...(gasp)...a hobby. My son gifted me with a camera (and ongoing photography lessons!)this last year and I have been having a blast. I love this site! Wonderful people, amazing pictures from all over and lots of encouragement to keep learning and improving!
