Tacoma, WA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: These Spotted Towhee's are hard to get in the open as they hide mostly in the brush. I'm also told by birders they're hard to find around Tacoma. I have two spending the winter in my backyard.

Borrowing a line from "Field of Dreams"....

If you feed them, they will come.

And, believe me, they spread the word around the area.

Have fun with them and congratulations on your AC!

My all-time favorite bird! Used to be named "Rufous Towhee". Had it around my home in southern Oregon, and always enjoyed watching its behavious and listening to its song. Glad you posted this beauty!
