Pocasset, MA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Petal-like forms in the pond ice, mostly under bubbles - only visible at certain angles. I've only seen this a few times. Unfortunately, overnight it was 57 with 40mph wind and by morning as much as 6 inches of ice was totally gone. I'd sure like to figure out what conditions produce this.

I wonder if they're the result of wind-melted snow? Some of your "Snow and Ice" pictures made me think of this.

About isight

isight

Living on Cape Cod in this beautiful spot, trying to notice what the days have to offer, playing along with life as it unfolds, celebrating the wonder of it all. Learning from and being inspired by all the marvelous images and myriad visions expressed; having great fun with comments, titles and captions. And although my vision has blurred, my 'vision' - what I notice that I try to convey - is clearer. This enthusiastic, supportive community is quite exceptional.
