I LOVE HAWKS AS MUCH AS OTHER BIRDS OF PREY,,AND I FIND IT'S ALWAYS A CHALLENGE [IN SPITE OF SO MANY AROUND HERE,THIS TIME OF YEAR],TO GET ANY GREAT PHOTOS!!! I LIKE THIS ONE GIL!!!

Jeannie, Ya the West Rim Road is where this one was. Seems like I manage to see them there.

Eileen, Thank you for the ID. I thought that is what it was, but couldn't think of the name, so couldn't look it up. Besides,Didn't think about til I was on the uploading mode. I thought I would later just google for Hawk,and that would give me a clue with the images they would show.Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

Wow, Gil, what a great catch! I saw one of these on the west rim road about 3 weeks ago and wondered was type of hawk it was. I'd never seen one with the light colored chest. Great photo!
