Always so welcoming to see!
@SunsetSailor......The snow drop (Galanthus)is a member of the Amaryllis family. Deer & rodents normally avoid them, which is nice! They bloom very early even through the snow and before the crocus. They also naturalize very well. There are several different varieties of them too.
Hope this info helps!

Lovely and interesting photo. Can you tell us a little more about this flower? What is its real name and does it normally bloom in the snow?

About gardner48197

gardner48197

10/2014: Greetings from Michigan, where we get quite a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! Originally I found this site, for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon P530. Truly an amazing, eye-opening hobby! This is a great community, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I do read and appreciate every comment and email that I receive! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the University of Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
