Caption: Sunspots are numbered according to active regions. So the top most region is 1302 which is made up of the two large spots and the faint one below and to the left. AR1305 is further down and the last visible active region is 1306, below and to the left of 1305. 1302 has been very active and has caused brilliant displays of the auroras. This photo was cropped from the original frame. Taken with a solar filter. Never look at or photograph the sun without a solar filter.
