Homosassa Springs, FL (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: in a few weeks...on milkweed, both a host and nectar plant....only one for Monarchs. Female lays its eggs here, the caterpillar ecloses eats the milkweed. It will then form a stunning pupa and as an adult will nectar on various plants.

Yes, there has been a devastating decline in Monarch....and I picked up a couple dozen eggs.

thanks for your kind comments and ratings. Yes, Kathy, I've been raising Monarchs for years, first time in Florida, they are busily laying eggs! I did raise Gulf Fritillaries here in the fall.
