Was afraid the farmer's up here would have this to look forward to after a bit of a drought, not sure if they got enough rain when they needed it or not,,maybe small ears this year in some spots..Farming sure is a fickle occupation..I love this rendering....get your charcoal,or graphite pencils out and get to sketching!! '10' up high from here. :)

You truly can pull so much out of the ordinary, Tim! Fantastic capture! The textures and patterns are amazing. I kept thinking you guys were getting much better rains this corn season. And I'm assuming this is irrigated corn. 10!

Some of the corn up north around here is drying up too, we had rain the other day but as you said it is too late for corn and there are a lot of soybeans around here also.

Thanks for sharing as it shows how Mother Nature can be magnanimous in giving as well as taking from us. Therefore, we must be mindful of what we receive- just my thoughts :)

About docshovel39

docshovel39

Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thank you for your comments and have a GREAT day !
