Although not as severe this year , the drought continues across West Texas . These tree roots line the side of what used to be a playa lake - now a dry hole . These things look very similar to dry bones from the street - how fitting .

My heart goes out to all in drought areas. Having watched PBS "Dust Bowl" this week makes this especially poignant.
The sepia works well, Tim.
Happy Thanksgiving, nonetheless.

Thanks Betsy ! I watched the "Dust Bowl" program on PBS as well . The people that lived through that mess were tougher than I'll ever be . Thanks for the comment .

Thanks Sharon ! The blowing dust in this part of the country really makes me feel for the poor folks that had to live through it in the '30s .

Well captured Tim! Such a sad scene. You really made an artistic statement with the perspective you chose and the sepia.
Celebrate life, Debra

About docshovel39
docshovel39 Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thank you for your comments and have a GREAT day !
