Ropesville, TX (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Our first major cold blast blew through West Texas Last night . Many of our farmers have cotton and milo in the same field - pretty unusual for this area as cotton pretty much dominates in the crop department . Anyway , I hope harvest is soon - we need the coats .

Very beautiful Tim, love this! The farmers around here will usually have cotton planted in one field and maybe beans in another, but never seen any as close as this. Also for some reason, the farmers haven't harvested the cotton, it is still sitting in the fields.

About docshovel39

docshovel39

Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thank you for your comments and have a GREAT day !
