Thanks Linda, with the cloudy skies I wasn't able to get the whole moon and the mosquitoes were crazy. I'm just happy I was able to get a descent shot to dedicate it to this American Hero. :-)

Nice! Sadly, the flag Neil and Buzz planted on the moon has to be long gone; it was a dime store flag and not designed to tolerate such strong UV. However, the lander is still there, and their footprints, and maybe Neil's camera. The footprints will remain long after the lander has disintegrated, at least until something else smacks into the moon and creates another crater there.

What a lucky generation, to have had a hero like Neil, to have witnessed humans travel to the moon on such fabulous rockets, to actually walk on the moon and come back!

And how lucky to have people like you, to take lovely pictures of that very moon and share them with everyone.

There's a plan afoot to make August 25th the annual Wink At The Moon Night, to honor Neil's memory for generations more.

(I think Neil would be appalled, but would be kind enough to understand :^) )

About chelina
chelina A photograph is a message of life distilled and preserved for eternity. It conveys a statement, an impression, or an emotion. I am the author trying to convey this message in a way no words can, in a clear, concise, and effective way.My camera helps me capture moments of beauty, light, human expression, emotion, and the greatest of all...GOD's Masterpiece. I find myself looking at things in an entirely different way by trying to capture a moment and a feeling. To date I continue to be in awe of the vibrant life and beauty that surrounds us, thanks to MY GOD. There is so much to see, capture, and share. My goal is to take the viewer to a place they may never have the opportunity to visit and to share this wonderful world in which we live in. We turn to nature to nurture our faith. Many of us have had our most meaningful spiritual experiences in relationship to the environment. Beauty provokes us to transcend our concerns, shortcomings and conflicts. We have heard the voice of God in the woods and waterways, in bird songs or the remarkable delicacy of a flower. Nature reveals God's glory...(Psalm 19). I believe that photography is a form of communication. If it says something worthwhile to the viewers, then it's a success.
