Hermiston, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: According to Audubon the western and eastern (formerly Baltimore Oriole) were once considered separate species, but interbred when trees were planted on the Great Plains. Anyway, that's what Audubon's Field Guide to Western birds says. Taken in our yard this evening.

Perfect capture of the Oriel, Steve!

I have the Peterson Field Guide to Western Birds
and it doesn't have near the detail that Audubon
apparently has. May have to get that.

Anyway, this is one great shot and Congratulations on your AC.

About backwardguy

backwardguy

My wife of 41 years and I live in Hermiston OR. on a 5 acre "farmette". I have been an elementary school teacher for the last 29years. I enjoy the outdoors and animals and I'm an avid (not a good) golfer. My wife and I take our motorcycles on long trips and our destinations are almost always the beautiful National parks in Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Utah, and last summer we added Arizona to the list. Photography has long been an interest of mine and many of my photos are taken on our little farmette, and on our motorcycle trips.
