Don't stop chaseing storm. Get back on that bike. Just be more aware of the habits of storms. No pic is worth one's life.
I did not think about hail being so big as to destroy cars or kill people. Yet any storm can kill. that I do know. I also did not know that there was such a thing as a Hail Cone. I thought that hail came with the storm.
It is a wonderfull pic, and I did learn from your work. Now get back in there. Meri

Unbelievable shot of inside a violent storm! I was shooting the same storm just north of Fort Morgan and it certainly looked nasty!

Sorry to hear about your Dad's car but the most important thing is that you both walked away safe. Hope you continue taking storm photos in the future because you're an amazing talent!!

I'm sorry about your dad's car, but find myself chuckling all the same. I drove my dad's bronco into a ditch once chasing a thunderstorm N. of Phoenix. Needless to say, he wasn't pleased, and I didn't get to use his vehicles again for anything but going to and from work. I'm considerably older now, and still chase storms, but am VERY careful about knowing where I am and where the roads go. Your passion and talent are obvious...you'll chase again, trust me. Anyone who takes fantastic photos like yours can't stay away forever. :) Good luck w/dad...

Amazing shot!!! Where in Fort Morgan was this taken? Was this taken on Friday? My father in law's family is from Fort Morgan. We live in Illinois but my wife's grandmother and extended family still lives in town there. We go there each summer to visit. I was reading the Fort Morgan Times online and read about the hail hitting the wheat crop pretty hard. Again...wild and awesome pic. I just made it my wallpaper! Be safe man!

Great shot Adam, you might want to consider having a GPS in your car so you can know what roads lie ahead and where the nearest under pass might be. Your passion for weather shows in your photography but please stay safe.

THAT CLOUD IS EVIL PERSONIFIED. I AGREE WITH 'FEATHER3's' REMARKS. I'M SUPRISED THERE WASN'T A TORNADO HIDING IN THERE SOMEWHERE! U HAVE MUCH MORE COURAGE THAN I. I ALSO AGREE WITH 'ARBIE'. THIS THING LOOKS LIKE IT COULD SWALLOW ME WHOLE. LOVE THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE CLOUD & THE GROUND COVER. PERFECT 4 AN EVEN MEANER LOOKING CLOUD! KEEP SENDING. WE LOVE YOUR PHOTOS.....FROM A SAFE DISTANCE.
THX SOOOOO MUCH.

Basically what happened was I was doing just fine and then my road dead ended unexpectedly. I had nowhere to go. I had one option. Unfortunately that resulted in being hit by the storm.
