It is really too much rain. Hope that you and yours are OK and you do not have a lot of damages. Congratulations on the VIP!

VIP! Well done.

And excellent info in #2 and #3. I saw the BBC video about the train track linked in Sandiquiz's blog, comment #32. Absolutely amazing that track has been there since 1840 and never washed out before.

This (below) copied & pasted from Environment Agency website (Severe Flood Warning):

The emergency services are helping people evacuate from their homes in the local area. Many of the temporary defences and pumps that were installed to protect properties in Moorland are now being overwhelmed. Water is continuing to spill from Currymoor into Saltmoor and Northmoor via Athelney spillway and the old Lyng railway cutting. Whilst water has stopped flowing over Baltmoor wall, water levels in Northmoor continue to rise. This poses an ongoing risk to local properties. The drain level at Northmoor pumping station is 5.54 m and is currently rising by approximately 6 mm per hour. We continue to pump water at Northmoor and Saltmoor pumping stations. 5 to 10 mm of rain is forecast this evening and the River Tone at Currymoor is expected to rise again, however a dry morning should follow.

About WurzelDave

WurzelDave

I'm a 'wurzel' who lives in South West England (UK) in the county of Somerset (next to Devon), famous for scrumpy cider, Cheddar cheese, The Wurzels (well worth going to see) & birth county of 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button.Like the rest of the West Country, Somerset has many areas, places & landscapes worth a visit such as Glastonbury Tor & Abbey ruins, Quantock hills, West Somerset Railway, Cheddar Gorge, & Exmoor, to name but a very few.Favourite holiday destiations are Iceland (see alot of photos) & the Icehotel in Jukkasjarvi Sweden (also see photos). Still a lover of the flim camera, my first camera was an Halina 110 camera which you could buy flip flashes for! I have a Canon 3000V SLR film camera, also have some TLR cameras from the 1950's plus Canon powershot A3300 & SX150 digital cameras which are useful for close up macro shots & also makes film 'last' longer!
