Caption: Every day for two weeks I have returned to ths spot to look for my pileated woodpecker with no luck. Today I was shocked when I returned to look for him as there he was!

Thanks...he never left. I was on a time
schedule...had set timer on cell phone for 30
min walk...timer went off and did not disturb
him or me. Finally, I knew I had to about run
back home to get ready for a birthday party. I
surely hated to leave him. I don't usually
leave until the bird leaves.

Thanks! You know, he did not seem to mind me
being there at all. He was busy working in
that hole....he would disappear almost
completely in the hole and then pop back out.
I really hope this might be his new nesting
place.
